Eataly - Diary Entry 0.5
Liverpool Street, London: The first time I ever walked into Eataly, it just felt like my dream playground. An enormous building filled to the brim with Italian produce, restaurants, and bars. They even have an Aperol Spritz bar parked outside! I was in heaven, complete heaven. Safe to say that when I returned this week to write this blog post, I was already a seasoned Eataly go-er. This is not my first rodeo; many a pizza and spritz have been consumed here already.
The Vibe
Eataly London is located just a stone's throw from Liverpool Street Station. It's a breathtaking tribute to Italian gastronomy. Stepping inside, you're immediately immersed in a bustling, vibrant world that feels more like a celebratory Italian piazza than a food hall. The two-floor space is part market, part restaurant, and part cooking school, all designed around the motto of “Eat, Shop, Learn.” It’s an infectious energy, a beautiful sensory overload of sights, sounds, and smells that celebrates the joy food brings to the world.
The Food
I love wandering through the sprawling market, where you can find everything from shelves stacked with over 6,000 authentic Italian products to a fresh pasta counter and a stunning selection of over 2,000 wines. This visit was no exception to my love for the place. While indulging in a delicious meal, my mind was swimming in memories of many a delicious pizza, perfectly cooked pasta, and refreshing Aperol spritz. The open kitchens, including a traditional wood-fired pizza oven, add to the sensory experience, filling the air with delicious aromas and making the food itself a form of theatre.
Why We Love Working with Eataly
As a company dedicated to hospitality compliance training, we feel a great sense of pride knowing that Eataly is a SIDEWAYS customer. It’s a total celebration of the joy food brings to the world, in a way that only the Italians seem to do, and it is a beautiful example of how a lively, passionate customer experience and operational excellence go hand-in-hand. Their dedication to a high-quality, joyful customer experience is perfectly complemented by their behind-the-scenes commitment to compliance. It’s a testament to the fact that you can have a passionate, creative, and lively hospitality business that also takes its safety and legal obligations seriously. Eataly is a shining example of this.
